Conference Dinner

Restaurant Muzej okusa is one of best Osijek's restaurants with not just great food but also beautifully designed interior. Restaurant is located at Martina Divalta 4. The dinner begins at 7 p.m. (Thursday).

Please choose between three main courses: meat, fish and vegetarian/vegan. You can make your choice here.

Conference Lunch

BOBCATSSS participants can have a warm lunch in a nearby student restaurant Campus, located within walking distance of the Faculty of civil engineering.

You will be able to choose between three main courses: meat, fish and vegetarian/vegan on-site. Vegan menu registration.

Price: ca 5 – 10 Euros (please prepare Croatian kuna – cash).

Note: If you are gluten intolerant, you can find some gluten free dishes in the following restaurants.

Evening Party

The party will be held at the nightclub „Exit” (Ul. Franje Kuhača 5). Club is locate in the old city center Tvrđa and has a chill out zone (floor 1), DJ zone (floor 2) and live music zone (floor 3). This is a great chance for you to relax, socialize, dance and have some fun listening to good music – band VIS (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences) and The Red Roosters.

Pub Quiz

If you want to spend funny and interesting evening in a good company, join us for the pub quiz. Have some intelligent laughs with a pint of local beer (or tea).

Pub quiz will take place and the nightclub Cadillac (Ul. Kardinala Alojzija Stepinca 28) on Tuesday starting at 7 p.m.

Museum of Slavonia

It was founded in 1877 under the name “Museum of the free and royal city of Osijek”. Over the decades it grew into a complex, multidisciplinary museum (focussed on the region of eastern Croatia called Slavonia). Today it houses almost four thousand registered artefacts divided into nine departments such as Natural history, Archaeology (Prehistory, Antique, great migrations, Medieval), Numismatics, History, Arts and crafts, Ethnology, Technical. Amongst its numerous collections some of the most prized ones are The Roman Mursa collection and numismatic collections. Museum also has a library with a collection of more than 70 000 books, many of them from an early printing period. Archeological Museum Osijek

The museum was opened for public in 2007. It houses three large collections: The Prehistoric Collection, The Antiquity Collection and The Migration Period & Medieval Collection. Visit the Facebook Page

Museum of Water Life

This collection is a unique exhibition of seashells and marine and freshwater life. It is one of the biggest collections of this type in Central Europe and contains some of the rarest exhibits. As Lonely Planet says „Check out the most poisonous creature in the ocean (the remains of an octopus from the Philippines), fossils from 650 million years ago, a megalodon tooth and a vast array of exotic shells.” Visit the Facebook Page

Osijek Walking Tour

Osijek is also known as "City on the Drava River" and was named after the word "oseka" which means „low tide“ (a place near the river suited for inhabitants). It's the fourth biggest city in Croatia with a population of about 100,000 and is the cultural, economic and scientific centre of Slavonia and Baranja region. Osijek is located close to the confluence of the Drava and the Danube, in the middle of its 2850 km long course from German Schwarzwald to the Black Sea. In the city Croatian and old Austro-Hungarian heritage meets which is evidenced in the architecture, rich traditions and gastronomy. (Tourist Board of the City of Osijek). We will take you on a walking tour where you will be able to see many of the city sights and hear about Osijek's history and present. Find more information at City Sights

City tour is included in the registration fee.

Visit will be scheduled for Monday (21st of January) and Tuesday (22nd of January) at about 4 p.m.

The guide will wait for you at the Holy Trinity Square in the old town of Tvrđa.

Other Activities

Ice Skating

If you wish to do some open air ice skating (while listening to cool music), no matter if you are an absolute beginner or an expereinced skater, we recommend you come with us the nearby ice skating rink (within walking distance from Hotel Osijek). The good news is that you do not need to bring your skates with you - you can rent them there!

Ice skating rink is open on:

  • Monday 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.; 9 p.m. - 10:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday 5 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.; 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.; 9 p.m. - 10:15 p.m.
  • Thursday 5 p.m – 6:15 p.m.

Price: 2 Euros for the ticket and 2 Euros for the skates (please prepare Croatian kuna in cash).
